Omkara - Review

Omkara

Omkara is a 2006 movie made by, co-written and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. It is an adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Othello'.

A great adaptation I must say, as the story is complete, and innovatively Indianized. The huge starcast made it clear enough that the movie was not gonna go down easily. Everyone has acted above their capabilities if I may say so. Who could've imagined Ajay Devgan playing the role of 'Omi', or even for that sake, Saif Ali Khan could even act! Saif was remarkable in his role as 'Langda Tyagi', if there is only 1 reason I watch any of his movies, because I loved this role of his. Kareena Kapoor, Konkona Sen, Vivek Oberoi have also acted very well.

The music was loved by the audience. 'Namak ishq ka', 'Beedi' were instant hits. The title track 'Omkara' has been sung amazingly by Sukhwider Singh.

A movie about - love, faith, trust, and betrayal - made by Vishal Bhardwaj, starring Ajay Devgan and Kareena Kapoor, and some great music - is all you need to know to watch this movie.
Definitely not worth a miss!
