The trailer has been heavily criticized, and has already been compared to a lot of movies from Hollywood.
I'd like to breakdown the trailer to compare how much of this movie seems to be "inspired" from Hollywood, and other industries.
Firstly, check out the trailer here: Krrish 3
Well, those of you aware of superhero movies, might already be cursing this movie after watching the trailer, as it seems to be "inspired" a lot.
Here goes the list of scenes in the trailer and the movies it has similarities to:
1. The Amazing Spiderman
2. Kung Fu Panda
3. Robocop
4. X-Men
5. Catwoman
6. Iron Man 2
7. Man of Steel
Also, the way the title of the movie combines together, it looks way similar to the title animation of 'Transformers'
I have also found a video on you tube, comparing the trailer to the original, side by side.
Check it out here: Krrish 3 Trailer Analysis
Say what you might, but I believe that this is a brave attempt to make a movie about superheroes, especially with India audience already experiencing some International taste. India, as of such has not tasted success with superhero movies, but 'Koi mil gaya', and 'Krrish', were the beginning of something remarkable!
This movie, seems to be the stepping stone for Indian Animation as the entire movie is home-made! Yup! You heard it right! All the special effects and animation are Indian - designed, created, animated for Indian audiences.
You may say that the animation looks cheap when compared to its Hollywood counterparts, but of course it does! The movie has a budget of Rs. 100 crores, try comparing that with Marvels Avengers, as Rakesh Roshan (The Director) said in an interview, which cost Rs. 1,100 crores to be made! Well, now we are only 1,000 crores behind on the budget now aren't we?
Regarding the music, criticizing the music will not help! The blaring horn from Inception has been used in the trailer, but if you have been listening to movies these days, almost every movie is using this concept! Be it Man of Steel, Iron Man, Avengers, Transformers, Pacific Rim, etc. So, this point is void.
And if you have to blame, don't blame Rajesh Roshan only... Salim-Sulaiman have provided the background score... ;)
