I don't think that is the case with the movie makers. In mst cases the eye has been used to depict something scary, mostly in horror movies. And rightly so, it is captivating as eyes are beautiful and any sort of alteration in the design makes you think twice.
Sadly, the idea express stopped at many minds, and freely delivered this to other studios as well. Hence, loads of these posters!
