x10dead Edition: What to expect from Dhoom 3 (2013)
Dhoom 3 is the next movie in the 'Dhoom' trilogy by Yash Raj Films (YRF).
That's not even funny... what is funny is that in english it is being called 'Blast 3'.
You read it right... Blast... In terms of hindi, it does seem a bit odd in terms of translation, but I guess it will do...
Before we begin, I'd like to inform you about the SPOILERS AHEAD!
If you do not believe in spoiling your movie experience... ;)
Then don't read ahead...

Well, here goes:
Firstly, watch the trailer here: Dhoom 3 (2013)
Now, I think the movie begins with the first scene being Aamir Khan robbing a bank and on a hot pursuit, as shown in the trailer. He faces a roadblock, which he tackles easily after which he gives the cops a miss after cruising beneath a moving truck. The truck stops and the cops are blocked, while Aamir flees.
Aamir Khan:
- So, Aamir Khan is the main villain in this movie, and from the looks of the trailer, the stunts and theme look promising enough. He looks like a total bada$$, who means business... atleast that is what they are trying to show...
- Maybe his profession is of a biker, or a professional, or a thug - as that could explain his bike riding and stunt skills.
- Also, since he has been training around, and practising Parkour, the free running stuff, we may expect much of rooftop action.
- Ha ha ha ha... maybe this movie will not be about bikes, it'll be about Running... Imagine that... :D
Abhishek Bachchan:
- Cut to the chase, Abhishek Bachchan as ACP JAi Dixit - is in India, leading a dull life.
- Since Rimi Sen has not been cast,is her character dead? or has left Jai Dixit?
- Well, Jai gets a call from the US asking for his help in this case as he has previous experiences and achievements of nabbing high speed thefts.
- Ali tags along, and they nearly catch Amir on their first confrontation.
- Or maybe they catch him and he escapes.
- Aamir challenges Abhishek.
Jackie Shroff:
Since Jackie Shroff is in this movie, my guess is that he is the cop in charge. Simply because he looks good as a cop! Seen him in 'Bhaagam Bhaag'. But, there is no denying that his character may play an elaborate role.
Katrina Kaif:
- Another angle may be of Katrina Kaif, as she is enlisted to play a villain.
- She has also been training, so maybe she may be fighting using 'Lucha-Libre style' as her skill set, the one similar to the one done by Scarlet Johannson in Iron Man 2.
- My reason for this is, that it is currently in style, with many movies sporting this fight for their female roles.
- She has been shown portraying acrobatics in the trailer, so she may be a thief, capable of Parkour... again... and or she may be able to give the cops a miss by moving around tight corners.
- Also, she has been practising singing, so maybe she is a singer, or a damsel in distress.
Aamir Katrina fight:
- Katrina is a cop who turns bad, and in the end turns out to be the main villain.
- She may also be an undercover cop, portraying the role of a thief to catch the culprit.
- I think, she is Aamir's associate, who turns good in the end, and thus leading to a fight between them which explains the much hyped Aamir vs. Katrina fight by the media.
Tabrett Bethell:
- Australian Model Tabrett Bethell may be Aamir's relative
- She may be a cop, or some mafia thing...
- Of course, it can be played many ways, with Tabrett going on to betray the cops, revealing in the end that she works for Aamir.
- The inclusion of two ladies is proof enough for us to expect one on the side of a protagonist and the other on the side of the antagonist, as it has been the premise for the previous Dhoom movies.
- Or maybe both are bad girls.
Aamir Khan's double role?
- Also, since there are rumors of Aamir Khan playing a double role, which is revealed in the climax of the movie, it may be possible.
- It's been news that Aamir has a twin brother who is very sick, which compels him to take to stealing, to become a thief. If this is the angle, it may very well be similar to the character of Michael Scofield from Prison Break.
- Could it simply turn out as the plot of 'The Prestige'?
- Maybe it'd be something similar to the SRK starrer 'Don'
- Stealing to save a beloved one who is dying... seems more like a plot for Mr. Freeze of the Batman comics.
What to watch out for:
- Will both Aamir survive?
- Will Abhishek let go of them just like he did with Hrithik and Aishwarya Rai in Dhoom 2?
- Does Aamir stage his death?
- Will any previous member of the cast cameo in this movie?
- Will it again resemble any of the Fast and Furious movies?
- Katrina Kaifs character, as I believe that it is the real deal
How will the movie try to entertain the audience?
- IMAX screenings
- Witty dialogues
- Cameos
- They may mumble jumble up stuff to entertain the audience, but confusing them in the process - like making Ali the bad guy or something
- Endless & pointless chase sequences
- A song featuring both hero and villain together, challenging each other.
- An item song (hopefully the one which has not been lifted)
- Chase sequence similar to the one in 'Torque'
- Camera angles - ground level chase shots
- Sloooww M O T I O N
End/Mid credit sequence possibilities:
- Will a previous villain return?
- Is it John Abraham from Dhoom, as his character is presumed dead?
- Katrina is a relative of John Abraham!
- Will Hrithik return from Dhoom 2?
- Is it someone new?
- Could it be SRK/ Salman?
- Could it be something sort of a hacker - like in Die Hard 4? If so, I think Ranbir Kapoor may do the job!
This movie was delayed by an entire year. Also, Sanjay Gadhvi who directed the first 2 films isn't directing this one. Vijay Krishna Acharya, the writer of all the 3 movies is the director.
I am dearly hoping it is a good one because I really want to see a good action Indian movie with high octane action. Maybe they won't lift anything from anyplace, and the movie will turn out to be original, and won't have any bull$hiT...
It'll be better even it only entertains!

Dhoom 3 (2013)
The third movie in the Dhoom series, written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya - stars Aamir Khan & Katrina Kaif as the villains, & Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra reprising their roles.
The movies in this series are reknowned for their villains, rather than their heroes. The first movie had John Abraham donning the role of a Bike robber, and some high speed motorbike actions. In the second movie, the villains were Hrithik Roshan as a disguise master thief and Aishwarya Rai as a robber. This third movie has Aamir Khan as the villain, and the name of the star is enough to keep you guessing...
It'll be the first Bollywood movie to be released in the IMAX format.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara - Review
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
Starring Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif, Kalki Koechlin;
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar's sister, penned by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Previously titled as 'Running with the Bulls'.
This is the first movie by Zoya Akhtar, released in 2011, and quiet good I must say.
The movie is all about rich guys, how miserable they are with all the ENORMOUS wealth they have, how unhappy they are that they have yet to fulfill their 'to-do list'. How this movie is based solely on the riches, and how normal or middle-class people should only watch this movie and only dreaming about having such a life, or even any experience.
Well about the movie, it is about 3 friends, more like 'Dil Chahta Hai', or '3 Idiots' in this league. It is not a new concept though. Besides the concept being a bit like 'The Bucket-List', the movie has a stand of its own. What makes it interesting though is they way theses old recycled concepts have been written, created, shot and directed. Acting credentials are superb, the way the movie has been photographed, the picturesque beauty, the sceneries, etc. provide an engaging experience. Another yet never before concept of friendship, being in relation, marriage, work, balancing everything, has been handled graciously by the director. Overall, even though the movie has a great line-up of credits, it rests entirely on the shoulders of Zoya Akhtar, the director.
The music is what escalates this movie to another level, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have done an awesome job with the music here. 'Der Lagi Lekin' is a great track and my fav from this movie. The soundtracks have a fresh and new feel to them. It is quiet different from the typical music heard around and about. It's a good film to watch with your old pals basically, as anyone can connect with the limitations to enjoyment, work, relations, and compare individual experiences.
Watched this movie thrice, but not a time more. Its not something you will always go for. But you sure as hell, don't wanna miss this one.
