V for Vendetta - Review

V for Vendetta

I consider this to be a great movie. It is an excellent comic-book adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name written by Alan Moore and David Lloyd. Although the book gained a lot of fame and recognition, the 2005 movie went on to gain further appraisals from the crowd that had not yet read the book. Sponsored by none other than the Wachowski brothers of 'The Matrix' trilogy fame.

It is set in a dystopian London, where everything is controlled by the government. The public is dealt with harshly by the corrupt government, everyone lives afraid of them, and no one can rise upto them. That is when this character 'V' comes into play. He terrorises the government, fights for the people, for justice, and rises up against the odds. 'Hugo Weaving' plays the role of 'V'. Natalie Portman is also great in her role as 'Evey'. I really don't want to spoil the rest of the movie, and it is much better if you watch it. The movie has done fair justice to the transition from the book.

The movie popularized the Guy Fawkes mask, and has been observed across the globe during various protests against corrupt governments. This movie was a worldwide phenomena. Watch it and you'll know why!

A must watch!
